Turning a simple hand towel into a neat bow is an easy way to make a bathroom or guest space feel finished—no special tools required. The key is working with a towel that has some body (plush or velvet towels hold shape especially well) and keeping your folds even so the “loops” of the bow look balanced.
1) Lay the towel flat. Smooth it on a counter or table with the long edge facing you. If the towel has an embroidered side or decorative border, decide which side should show on the front of the bow.
2) Fold into a long band. Fold the towel lengthwise into thirds (or in half, then in half again) to create a wide, even strip. Flatten it so the edges align.
3) Form the bow loops. Bring the left end and right end toward the center, overlapping them slightly. Adjust the overlap so each side looks the same length—these will become the loops.
4) Create the “knot” in the middle. Pinch the overlapped center tightly, then wrap a small section of towel around that pinch point. You can do this by pulling a short “tail” from one end around the center and tucking it behind. If the towel is thick, a small elastic band or hidden hair tie around the pinch point makes the center secure before wrapping.
5) Fluff and shape. Pull gently on each loop to round it out, then straighten the ends so they drape evenly. If the bow will sit upright on a tray, tuck the back edge under for stability.

Secure the pinched center with a small clear elastic or hair tie first, then wrap a small section of towel around the middle to hide it. Fluff the loops after securing so the tie stays invisible.
